Privacy Policy
What we collect, what we do not, and who else is involved when you use the map.

The short version: we do not ask you to create an account, and our contact form sends email from your own mail app rather than storing anything on our servers. The data collection that does happen comes from third parties — our advertising network, our host, and the map and location services the site uses.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
Information you give us
The Site has no accounts, no logins and no server-side form processing. Our contact form composes a message in your own email client — we receive only what you choose to send us by email, which will include your email address and whatever you write. We keep that correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and to maintain a record of listing corrections.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider records standard server and security logs, which may include your IP address, browser type, referring page, pages requested and timestamps. Third-party services described below also collect information automatically.
Location
If you press Use my location on the map, your browser asks your permission and, if granted, provides your approximate coordinates to your own browser so the page can sort results by distance. That location is used in your browser only. We do not transmit it to our servers and we do not store it. Denying the permission simply means you search by ZIP code instead.
ZIP code searches
When you search a ZIP code that is not already in our dataset, your browser sends that ZIP code to a third-party postal-code lookup service (Zippopotam.us) to convert it into map coordinates. Only the ZIP code is sent.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We do not set our own tracking cookies. Third parties operating on the Site may set cookies or use similar technologies:
- Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies and device identifiers to serve and measure advertising, including personalised advertising where permitted.
- Map, tile and font providers receive requests from your browser when map tiles, scripts or fonts load, which necessarily discloses your IP address and user agent to them.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them will not break the directory.
4. Advertising
We display advertising to fund the Site, including advertising served by Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by many other vendors at aboutads.info and networkadvertising.org.
5. Third-party services we use
- Google AdSense — advertising delivery and measurement.
- OpenStreetMap and Esri World Imagery — street and satellite map tiles.
- Zippopotam.us — ZIP code to coordinate lookup.
- Google Fonts — web fonts.
- Our hosting provider — serving the Site and keeping security logs.
Each of these has its own privacy policy governing what it does with the data it receives. We do not control their practices.
6. How we use information
We use the limited information we receive to respond to your messages, add and correct listings, operate and secure the Site, understand aggregate traffic patterns, and display advertising. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except as described in this policy or where required by law.
7. Business listing data
The directory publishes business contact information — farm names, business addresses, business phone numbers and websites — sourced from public business data. This is business information rather than private personal information. If you own a listed business and want your listing corrected or removed, email us from an address associated with the business and we will action it. We do not require a reason.
8. Children
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal information, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. Because we hold very little personal data — essentially, email you have sent us — most requests are simple to satisfy. Email hello@pumpkinpatchesnearme.com and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
California residents: we do not sell personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA/CPRA. Advertising cookies set by third parties may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising; use the opt-out links in section 4 to limit this.
10. Data security and retention
The Site is a static website served over HTTPS, which limits our attack surface considerably. Email correspondence is retained only as long as necessary for the purpose it was sent. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International visitors
The Site is operated in the United States and covers United States locations. If you access it from outside the US, understand that information handled by our providers may be processed in the US.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The revision date at the top of the page will change when we do. Material changes will be signposted on the Site.
