Frequently asked questions

How did you pick the pumpkin patches on this list?

Every farm here is ranked by its public Google rating and review volume, pulled from our full directory of tracked pumpkin patches. We show up to five per state — fewer if a state has fewer than five listed.

Nothing on this list is a paid placement; claimed listings get priority within a directory page, but this roundup is ranked purely on rating and reviews.

What is the single best pumpkin patch in the country?

There isn't one objectively — ratings are strong within a farm's own market but aren't a fair way to compare, say, a small u-pick lot in one state against a destination agritourism farm in another.

Use this list to find the strongest options in your own state, or nearby ones, rather than chasing a single national "best."

When should I visit a pumpkin patch this Halloween season?

Most patches nationwide run from mid-to-late September through the first days of November, with the two or three weekends around mid-October the busiest by far. Weekday mornings are consistently the quietest time to go. See our full season timing guide for how this shifts by region.

Are the pumpkin patches on this list good for young kids?

It varies by farm — check the feature tags and details on each farm's own listing page, which we link to throughout. Petting zoos and dedicated play areas are the two features that tend to matter most for toddlers and preschoolers specifically.

How often is this list updated?

This page rebuilds from the same live directory data as the rest of the site, so rankings reflect current ratings and review counts as of publish.

Individual farm hours, pricing and what's running on a given day can still change week to week during the season — always confirm with the farm directly before you drive out.

Summary

This roundup covers our top-rated pumpkin patch picks in 48 states, drawn straight from the 2,000-farm directory we maintain year-round.

Ratings and review counts reflect public data at the time of writing and shift over time, and hours, admission and what's actually running can vary week to week during the season — always confirm with a farm directly before you drive out.
